First Idea: Fire Safety.
EDIT: The following post is no longer my intention, but it IS where I started off.
After my interview with the design group I Shot Him, which can be found here,I decided I wanted to try to make a fire-safety installation piece.
I would like to create a semi interactive story that explains the safest way to escape from a fire.
It would involve several screens and a maze of sorts, probably constructed out of plywood and charred to add effect. Illustration will be used to create characters that you are trying to help evacuate, and each screen will include a small game that the player has to complete to move on to the next screen. To advance, the players will have to know fire safety rules, and interact with the characters to get them out. The starting point of the maze will be the preparation section, where the player will have to help their characters choose safe meeting places in case of an emergency, as well as plans for pets or other things. This section will not be charred. As the player advances there will be a “fire” and they will go through evacuation procedures, helping the characters by tapping their heads to make them crouch, and tapping and scrolling to make them stop, drop and roll whenever one gets set on fire.
