When I was a kid I looked up to Leonardo DaVinci not for his artistic masterpieces, though I eventually grew fond of them, but for his scientific tinkering. I was enthralled by his passion to surpass his predecessors and break the rules, the way he wrote backwards to throw off competitors and would sneak into cemeteries to examine and learn from things he knew nothing of.
The quote reads:
“Obstacles cannot crush me. Every obstacle yields to stern resolve. He who is fixed to a star does not change his mind.”
As with the grace hopper quote, this personal project was an exploration with typography and layer meshing.
