For this project I lead the development of an augmented reality application for the United States Fish and Wildlife Services. The purpose was to generate interest in the Rocky Mountain Arsenal in the hopes of attracting more visitors to the parks. Our solution was to give visitors the chance to experience an augmented tour through the use of their phone or tablet devices that would educate them about the animals that frequent the area. I initially got the application to work on an android tablet, then worked on porting it to the Ipad. Initially the only animal I was supplied with was a deer, and once we were able to provide a proof of concept we were granted an eagle and a bison to incorporate into the application. One of the things I loved about working on this is how the project turned heads, showing up on several blogs as well as the school newspaper.

That was nothing, however, in comparison to what was to follow. After producing the demo and improving on the proof-of-concept, we were invited to bring our application to the Ted X teen talks in the convention center! We polished up the design, got rid of the bugs, installed it on multiple tablets, added some salmon and showed off our product to teenagers from all kinds of backgrounds, the impressive part being that some of them actually thought it was cool.
