Progress has been made! Sashimi Report

This is the Sashimi report that was assigned to our class. Essentially, it is a summation of what I actually have physically done, as opposed to any theory or defenses I may have come up with since the last check in.

I decided I had to build a new computer in order to get rid of the lag time I was experiencing with the sandbox application.

This is a picture of my motherboard as well as my processor. As you can probably see, it wasn’t going to fit, so I had to get a different one.

It’s alive!!!!

reinstalling the necessary libraries…

I actually ran into entirely new problems during this installation of the program. There was a set of libraries that were clashing with each other on this new computer that I had actually had no trouble with during the previous installation, and to solve it I had to change some directories.

this is a picture of one of the previous set-ups that had been created for a projector mount by a previous artist that was on display at the Redline gallery, which is where this will eventually be on display. We decided it wouldn’t work for my installation, but it inspired my final decision on how I’m going to hang everything.

Swung by my local Home Depot to pick up materials, and then I put it all together in the comfort of my garage!

So in summation, I’ve built a computer, installed linux, reinstalled each part of the entire program including the libraries, and gotten the program working again. It is fully functional and works much faster now!

as far as the box goes, I have the basic box built and painted, it needs to be sealed and mounted on the frame. The frame also needs to be painted.

For the structure for the projector, I have purchased the beam that will go across the gallery space.

Everything from my sprint goal is technically finished, I just have to finesse the box a little and it’ll be all good!
